Warm Welcome
Today many of us live in large towns and cities and yet we are lonely, some feeling cut off from the community we live in. The cost of living crisis is having a devastating effect on the quality of our lives and with higher energy bills and inflation at its highest level for many years, lots of us need a helping hand. Our friendly community café offers a safe social place to keep warm in winter, cool off in summer, make friends and enjoy free refreshments including a freshly prepared and cooked lunch. You can drop in anytime between 10:30am and 1:30pm, there's no need to book ahead, we are looking forward to meeting you.
Every week you can grab a cuppa and read a selection of newspapers and magazines. You can play a board game, have a game of pool or table tennis and make new friends. You can also access support from citizens advice and money management advice from our CAP (Christians against poverty) representative.
This space is open to everyone, there is no criteria to meet. There's an old saying, "in life you are guaranteed two things, taxes and death." Here at SBC we want to add to that. "Here you are guaranteed two things, a warm welcome without judgement."
