Youth Club
Who is it for?
- Young people aged 11-17, (secondary school age)
Who runs it?
- A team of adult Christian volunteers, who regularly attend church.
Do you have to be a Christian to join?
- No, all are welcome.
How much does it cost?
- 20p per session. Yes, just twenty pence – the original price was set over twenty years ago when it started – we seem to have overlooked inflation! There is no membership fee and your first visit is free!
When is it on?
- Friday evenings during school term-time,
from 8.15pm – 10.00pm.
What is there to do?
- You can play a variety of games such as snooker or pool; football/basketball/dodgeball (with a sponge ball); air-hockey; table football; table tennis; dance on PS2 ‘dance-mats’; play other PS2 games on a separate PS2 or simply ‘chill and chat’, sprawled across giant beanbags.
Are there any refreshments?
- We have a ‘Tuck Shop’ selling items you would not find on a Jamie Oliver healthy eating list!
As a Christian run Youth Club what do you offer that is different?
- At 9 pm we have a five-minute ‘epilogue’ or ‘God slot’ when we gather everyone into the main hall and one of the leaders or other helpers talks about the gospel.
