My wife Doreen and I like to go on our day off for a walk in Northamptonshire, and one of the delights of the area we visit is to see the Red Kites flying in the sky. By that I mean the birds of that name, not boys flying kites!
They are amazing birds, what with their forked tails, striking colour, and a wingspan of about five and a half feet.
What strikes me as I watch them is their ability to just glide on the currents of the air with hardly a beat of their wings, and for me this is a 'parable of nature.'
As Christians, we are meant to rest on the currents of God's love, knowing the support of His strength and trusting in His sovereign rule over our life.
'Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you' (1 Peter 5:7)
